An EPIC Skincare Chat Part II – Weekly Routine

This is a continuation to the first part of my EPIC Skincare Chat. Apart from my extended daily skincare routine, I also take great care to constantly give my skin a boost once or twice a week. Interested? Read on…

EXFOLIATE ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK

Remember I mentioned deep cleansing as part of my routine, well, exfoliating is different to deep cleansing with Clarisonic. Although, don’t do both steps on the same day! Exfoliating is about removing the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin, while deep cleansing is more about cleaning out the pores. I like to exfoliate once a week just to have my face fully clean, new and super smooth. Makeup also glides on much more beautifully when skin is free from dead skin. Exfoliating is especially important if you have slightly drier or dehydrated skin because you tend to accumulate more dead cells since the cells on the surface are not getting enough oil and moisture to stay alive (again… my theory.. logical ya?) AESOP PARSLEY SEED MASK

This is like a mud mask which works more like an exfoliant in my opinion. I love the scent of this and how it always leaves the skin super clean. The mask goes on like a thin mud texture and dries quite quickly. I don’t really know how else to describe this, but you have to try it out yourself to experience the result.

KATE SOMERVILLE EXFOLIKATE

This is the BOMB!!!!!!! Grab this if you ever see it in Sephora because it is ALWAYS out of stock! This mask is a dark green thick gel with micro exfoliating beads that feel pretty coarse when rubbed onto the face. I would take an amount equivalent to a 10 cent coin and rub it onto the face for about 30seconds to 1 minute and then leave the mask on to sit for another 2-3 minutes before washing it off. Once you wash this off, your skin will feel as smooth as a baby’s bottom! Yup, not even kidding here. It is THAT good. It does sting a little but nothing compared to the tingling sensation from GlamGlow Youth Mud. I highly recommend this!

GLAMGLOW YOUTHMUD

I have a full review of this here. I like using this on days when my skin feels dull and needs a little perk-me-up. I would rotate between the 3 exfoliants dependent on my needs but I tend to exfoliate only 1-2 times a week.

PAMPER WITH TREATMENT MASKS

So we have cleansed and exfoliated our skin, now it’s time to pamper them. I mask my face once or twice a week. Sometimes more, when I feel lazy, especially with sleeping masks.   IMG_5318

ORIGINS DRINK-UP INTENSIVE OVERNIGHT MASK

This is one of those one-step treatment which I use on lazy nights. Yup, an extensive routine like mine are not sustainable on nights when I’ve spent 14hours at work. All I want to do is sleep! This mask is awesome because it’s a smooth cream that absorbs into the skin within 15minutes. When I use this, I basically skip all my serums and use this right after I’ve toned and prepped my skin for optimum absorption. This mask is very hydrating and I just love how hydrated my skin feels the next morning.

SULWHASOO OVERNIGHT VITALIZING TREATMENT

This is an awesome overnight treatment mask! Another win for those lazy nights but with maximum skincare properties. This is actually my second tube! A very underrated brand and product but surprisingly good. The texture of this is quite similar to the Origins Drink-Up Mask. It absorbs quite quickly and leaves the skin soft and moisturised the next morning.

GLAMGLOW BRIGHTMUD EYE TREATMENT

This is like an instant botox in 3 minutes. I have been using this on mornings where I wake up with puffy and tired eyes. In 3 minutes, I would have brighter and less puffy eyes. I have a detailed review of this coming up real soon. This is something that gives instant superficial effect, I’m not sure if the results last but at least it works 😉

SHISEDO MOISTURE RELAXING MASK

This mask is ULTRA MOISTURISING! This mask feels very luxurious on the skin. It is rich and very hydrating and slightly oily. In fact, it does feel very relaxing when applied because it’s got a very soothing scent. I would not recommend this to people with oily skin. I use this on weeks when I don’t use any of the overnight masks and when I actually have time to wait 10 minutes before washing the mask away.

Phew…. that’s it! My entire skincare routine for you.. Remember to check out Part I here.

Do let me know if you have any questions or recommendations. I am still on a search for a good eye mask! Thank you for reading and making it this far :)
